Blackline Safety

Blackline Safety's portal is the cloud command center for a connected safety ecosystem: gas detection, fall detection, and incident alerting for lone and remote workers in industrial environments, where customers carry real compliance obligations. Operations teams and safety officers monitor thousands of workers in real time through wearable devices speaking proprietary message protocols.

I was the product owner across three scrum teams, embedded with the software, firmware, and hardware groups.

I helped scale the platform to more than 120,000 connected workers, supported the launch of three new IoT safety devices and a BI reporting tool, and shipped a client-facing API so enterprise customers could pull device data into their own dashboards.

I also led the evaluation and migration of enterprise authentication and authorization from an in-house system to Okta for those 120K+ users, defining the authentication architecture and access governance. That project is where my identity specialization started.

Automated incident detection, IVR routing, alerting, and event-tracking workflows cut incident response time by 35%, reduced support tickets by 70%, and recovered more than 100 hours a week of manual effort. Onboarding automation and guided product tours drove most of the ticket reduction.

The platform work contributed to 90% year-over-year revenue growth and supported the company's expansion into new international markets.
